The Mozambique international was lured to South Africa by former Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane in 2018 after impressing in the COSAFA Cup, winning a Golden Boot award and a league title with UD Songo.
But he failed to register a single appearance for the Tshwane giants, while loan stints to Chippa United and the now-defunct Royal Eagles proved equally frustrating for the talent likened to Khama Billiat.
"Pitso signed me from UD Songo to Sundowns after that they didn't give me any chance, they just told me no we're going to loan you," Miquissone tells snl24.com/kickoff.
Miquissone says he 'accepted' he wouldn't play after moving to a new country and felt a temporary spell would develop him further before returning to Chloorkop. This never happened after two torturous years watching from the sidelines.
"They never gave me any chance and you know football is about minutes, it's about chances to see me on the field you know. I didn't get any chance at Sundowns, only once I left and even that was difficult.
"You can't believe [looking back], they sent me to these small teams like that and they didn't even give me a chance! But there I was still getting call-ups to the national team and when I got back, they still didn't play me.
"Imagine not playing at Chippa United and Royal Eagles... I just didn't understand but you know that's football. We need to respect the decisions of coaches, I'm a player and it's my job, so I can't say much more."
The 25-year-old went on to secure a loan back to UD Songo where he finished as the second-highest scorer in the league in another title-winning campaign before being spotted by the Tanzanian giants in the Champions League.
"I stayed there for almost two years without a chance, I told them I needed to leave to rescind or terminate my contract and they didn't allow me," he explained.
"It was difficult until I wrote to FIFA, Simba wrote to FIFA to allow me to go. That was my way out. I played against Simba, they liked me and started negotiations with me, that's why I'm here now."
Despite the difficult spell in Mzansi, Miquissone admits that his lack of experience may have hindered him and that he 'regrets' not being able to have shown his talents to South African football fans in the PSL.
"That time I was still young, I was waiting for people to help me and it never came but the biggest reason is that I never got the chance to play. I didn't get minutes in South Africa."
Since joining Simba in January last year on a free transfer, Miquissone has scored 10 goals and registered 12 assists in 40 games across all competitions.
