Chiefs have made history by reaching both the Champions League group stage and quarterfinals for the first time in their existence, and will face Tanzanian giants Simba in the first leg at home this weekend.
Meanwhile, their indifferent domestic form currently sees them in 10th position in the DStv Premiership and at risk of the club's worst ever finish to a league season in the PSL era.
Hunt believes had the form in the two competitions been swapped around, Amakhosi would be sitting above Mamelodi Sundowns in the run-in to the title.
"If it was the other way around, we'd be top of the league, wouldn't we – if we won our CAF games... It's a bit frustrating because you want to have consistency in all competitions, and we seem to have played our best football in the Champions League," Hunt told reporters in his pre-match press briefing.
"But, you know, we've played a lot of games – extra games as well, and we've played really well. It's hard to put your finger on it [why the results haven't been forthcoming].
"But, as I've said, if it was the other way around then we'd be top of the league, but it hasn't been and we've just got to try and put that out of our minds and concentrate on tomorrow's game."
