South Africa went into their first game against the Netherlands cautiously, but grew in confidence and created a number of opportunities. They were unable to convert, however and the game ended 0-0.
The second game was against Belgium, who had beaten Saudi Arabia 2-0. There was no be no repeat for the Europeans, however, as the South African boys won 2-0.
These performances were impressive, given that both European sides were much bigger and stronger.
But the South Africans ran out of steam against Saudi Arabia, who were fitter and quicker to the ball. The Saudis won 1-0, but thanks to the Netherlands beating Belgium 3-1, Bree Primary clinched second place in the group.
