Just under a month since making his senior debut, Orlando Pirates' Simphwe Selepe has made the cut for the final 23-man Bafana Bafana squad. Hugo Broos explained what impressed him about the 20-year-old.
Bafana are set to take on Tanzania and Mozambique on 6 and 10 June, respectively, in two international friendly matches.

For those matches, Broos has opted for a youthful squad that does not have a single outfield player over the age of 30. Additionally, many of the players selected are yet to represent the senior national team, and among them is somewhat of a surprise pick in the form of newly promoted Selepe.
Speaking on SABC Sport after announcing his squad, Broos explained why he had put his faith in the DDC graduate who has just five senior matches under his belt.
"He's a good midfielder. He's good at passing, and he scored a goal even. He's not only defensive, he can also help the team offensively," Broos explained.
"It's a good opportunity. If we played qualifiers, Selepe wouldn't be with the team, it is for sure.
"At the other end, I've always said age doesn't matter. And when I see the last three or four games Selepe played, I have to give him a chance."
"Maybe it will be too soon, but we can only see when we put him in the team and when he is playing. The opportunity is very good to do it. He has talent. It's up to him."
Bafana's first match will be against Tanzania at New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday, 6 June.
