Reports disclose Miguel’s salary at Chiefs

Inacio Miguel’s monthly gross earnings at Kaizer Chiefs have been disclosed in Angola.

Miguel is heading into his second season at Chiefs where his commanding influence has already elevated him to stand as captain in waiting for the new season with Yusuf Maart having left.

The 29-year-old defender was brought in from Petro de Luanda at the beginning of last season already earned caps for Angola and played in Portugal, Romania and Latvia.

His stay at Chiefs started amid disciplinary concerns after receiving four yellow cards and one red card in his first six games.

Fortunate for him was that he was then able to get his game in order so much that he was rewarded with the armband ending the season with 28 appearances.

He scored four goals.

An Angolan publication has disclosed what was his transfer fee along with what he earns monthly.

PontoZero reports that Chiefs paid USD250 000 (approx. R4,4 million) for his transfer from Petro where his minutes were limited.

It is claimed that Miguel’s gross monthly earnings are at 20 million Angolan Kwanza (approx. R385 000).

This puts his annual package at R4,6 million putting him into the class of better earning players at Chiefs.

Chiefs have previously had players on packages double this who included Keagan Dolly and Khama Billiat while Leonardo Castro was also a top bracket earner.

Miguel is in the second year of his three-year deal at Chiefs. 

The Portugal born Angolan has five caps for Palancas Negras and was a late call-up for the last AFCON finals but last played in November 2023 as a substitute in a World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde.
