The highest-paid managers in Europe's top 5 leagues

With a number of managers reportedly in danger of losing their jobs, here are the current highest-paid bosses in Europe's top five leagues.

Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino and Real Madrid's Carlo Ancelotti are among a number of coaches who could be relieved of their duties by the end of the season.

Despite both coaches' teams being at the top of their respective league tables, recent reports have suggested that their clubs' hierarchies are considering bringing in new managers to replace them.

Although their futures remain uncertain, the duo are among the highest-earning managers in Europe, as revealed by L'Equipe, who recently compiled a listing of the three best-paid bosses in each of LaLiga, the Premier League, Ligue 1, Serie A and the Bundesliga.

It will be no surprise that Pochettino is the highest-earning manager in France's top flight, with the Argentine tactician said to earn €1.1 million (R17.9 million) a month at PSG, while Ancelotti is understood to be the second-best-paid manager in LaLiga with his salary of €910 000 (R14.8 million).

The top-earning head coach in England is Manchester City's Pep Guardiola, who is said to earn €1.89 million (R30.8 million) a month after signing a contract extension in 2020, which will see him remain with the Citizens until at least 2023.

Jose Mourinho, meanwhile, is one the highest-earning managers in Italy, with L'Equipe stating that the AS Roma coach is getting paid €770 000 (R12.5 million) monthly in the Italian capital.
