Report: Xavi Hernandez turns down Brazil & Borussia Dortmund offers

Xavi recently signed a two-year contract extension with Al-Sadd after guiding the Qatari giants to the domestic league title this season without suffering a single defeat.

However, the former Spain international remains linked with a sensational return to Barcelona, and is the favourite to replace under-fire manager Ronald Koeman in the event the Dutchman is sacked by the club at the end of the season.

According to Spanish publication AS, Xavi's contract in Qatar includes a release clause that can be activated by Barca should the LaLiga giants wish to appoint him to their top job.

The Blaugrana are not the only side courting the 41-year-old's services, however – it is also claimed by the same publication that he has attracted offers from Borussia Dortmund and the Brazil national team.

It is believed the former midfield maestro was offered a three-year deal to replace Edin Terzic at Dortmund, while he is also said to have received a proposal to be Tite's assistant for Brazil's 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign, following which he would take the head coaching role.

Both offers are said to have been rejected, with Xavi only entertaining the idea of coaching either Al-Sadd or Barcelona in the near future.
