Swallows in talks with Mbesuma

Sources close to the Dube Birds have revealed to snl24.com/kickoff that the club’s management have made a strong bid to sign the former Kaizer Chiefs player and the parties are currently locked in talks trying to make the move happen.

“We are very interested and the management has had talks with his representatives at Prosport International,” the source, who asked to remain anonymous, says. “I am not yet sure what has transpired so far in terms of their meeting, however.”

Mbesuma returned to South Africa to look for a club after a failed career in England, Portugal and Turkey, and had trained with Mamelodi Sundowns last week.

However, The Brazilians do not appear keen to take on the player, who has recently suffered knee problems and is known to struggle with his weight.

The 24-year-old last played in the PSL at Chiefs and scored a remarkable 35 goals in the 2004/05 season, which prompted his move to Portsmouth in England.
