Polokwane City may have provided the biggest hint yet that the team's talisman Oswin Appollis could finally be transferred before deadline day on Tuesday.
Appollis was heavily linked with a move to North Africa, with several teams from that region having replaced Kaizer Chiefs as favourites.
In fact, he came close to joining Esperance at the beginning of the season, who had a written offer not accepted by club chairman Johnny Mogaladi.

The club also had a bid for the Bafana Bafana winger on transfer deadline day back in September last year from Mamelodi Sundowns, but Mogaladi could not be reached, as confirmed by agent Lance Davids.
Four months later, the 23-year-old is still in demand in the PSL, with Orlando Pirates believed to have entered the race for his signature in a bidding tussle with Sundowns ahead of the transfer deadline day on Tuesday.
Before the side's Nedbank Cup Last 32 clash against lower league side The Bees on Sunday, Appollis was in the squad and even made the starting line-up.
However, Rise and Shine quickly withdrew the speedy attacker from the starting XI with the team sheets already submitted, slotting Bonginkosi Dlamini in instead.
The Bafana Bafana winger eventually did not feature in the narrow 1-0 win, further raising speculation that his transfer could be imminent, as City seemingly avoided him being cup-tied, which could have been an instruction from his suitor.
Pirates and Sundowns got the wrong end of the stick in their acquisition of Deano Van Rooyen and Iqraam Rayners from Stellenbosch FC in the previous transfer window.
Van Rooyen could not feature for The Buccaneers after he played for just five minutes for Stellies in their MTN8 quarterfinal victory over TS Galaxy, as he arrived at the Soweto giants cup-tied, ahead of the semi-finals and final.

Rayners also could not help the Tshwane giants in the two-legged semi-finals against his old club Stellies, after he was also cup-tied following his appearance in the MTN8 quarterfinals.
Appollis would be eligible to feature for either club in the Nedbank Cup round of 16 and later stages, should a transfer go through, as he was an unused substitute over the weekend.
