He was admitted at the Hope of Achievers Rehabilitation Centre in Limpopo about four months ago after being rescued by NRKL Foundation from the alcohol demons that haunted him since his professional career days at both Sundowns and Moroka Swallows.

The soon-to-be 40-year-old retired from football and returned back home to Tembisa after losing all his assets and property in Midrand.

‘All You Need Is Love’, as he is fondly known, has embarked on a new journey in life after enrolling for a Licence D coaching course with the Polokwane Local Football Association in Limpopo.

This could be another opportunity for him to return to football and enjoy the game that made him a household name in South African football.

The chairperson of SAFA Polokwane LFA, Manare Mabotja, has hailed Chabangu’s attitude and dedication towards his coaching classes.

“It’s a huge privilege to see Lerato Chabangu being part of us and doing the coaching course. His attitude and commitment to his work is unbelievable.

"He is leading by example in class and a great motivator. He is doing well and enjoying his classes. He has the ability to become a great coach”, Mabotja tells KickOff.com.
