The Kappa brand is not new in the South African football arena. It was the first to dress Bafana Bafana following South Africa's readmission to international football in 1992. Prior to its involvement with the national team, Kappa was already dressing two of South Africa's footballing giants in Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns. CEO of Kappa Michael Joseph says the reason behind their involvement with 'Lidoda Duvha' is that both parties are making a return, albeit in different spheres. "We chose Black Leopards because just like we are making a comeback in South Africa, the team is also making a comeback to the Absa Premiership this season. Black Leopards is a well-known brand in South African football and are the only team that represents the Limpopo province in the PSL. We look forward to growing with Black Leopards and helping them become champions while ensuring that they look good on and off the field," he says. "The new kit signifies new beginnings as Black Leopards find their feet back in top flight football," says Desiree Pooe, Senior Manager: Sponsorships and Events at MTN SA. "As proud sponsors of Black Leopards F.C., MTN is excited about the launch of the new kit and welcomes Kappa as the team's new kit sponsor. We look forward to reaching new milestones with Lidoda Duvha donning the new apparel with pride." Kappa's partnership with David Thidiela's team signals an end for Umbro as the technical sponsor of the team. The new kit will only be available for the public in January 2012 and will be distributed through the Studio 88 stores. Leopards will play their next League match against Amazulu in their new kit on Sunday, November 20 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
