Bafana match vs Tanzania will be live on SABC

SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago confirms to snl24.com/kickoff: “We are going to show the game at 5pm."

Kganyago also corrects reports regarding the kick-off time.

“It is 5pm in South Africa and in Tanzania it will be 6pm,” Kganyago confirms.

“We will broadcast three matches on Saturday. We will show the first leg of the Promotional Play-offs match between Bay United and Jomo Cosmos at 2.45pm, then Bafana at 5pm and the Pirates vs Black Aces match will follow at 8pm.

"All of them will be live.

"On Sunday, we will show Baroka vs Leopards for the Nedbank Cup semi-finals and kick-off will be 3pm,” he says.

SABC seemingly deserve a pat on the back, especially regarding the Bafana match, since it had initially been set for May 14, then May 28 and changed again to May 14, which gave the broadcaster little time to arrange for a live broadcast.

Kganyago explains: “We had to work very hard for this. We only started negotiations on Monday this week and we sent our guys there yesterday [Thursday] to make sure the facilities are good.

“Having someone say 'I will broadcast' is one thing and whether there is compatibility is another ... you might find that you can’t uplink from the equipment they use. We had to do a lot in a very, very short space of time,” Kganyago adds.
