Greenwood's future takes another twist

With a few big European sides keen on Mason Greenwood, there is new twist with regards to the Manchester United forward's future.

The likes of Juventus and Lazio are reportedly keen on the England forward, as the Red Devils are expected to offload the player.

However, instead of leaving United on a permanent deal, the 22-year-old could be returning to Getafe on loan if the club president Angel Torres' latest comments are anything to by.

"We have 15 in the squad plus Greenwood, who we hope to give good news about soon and I hope will stay another year," Torres said at a Getafe kit launch, as per Goal.

"As the press says, there are many offers and we will abide by what Manchester United say.

"It looks like he will continue for another year. Every day that passes there are more possibilities but you have to be cautious."

"If everything goes well we need 10 players.

"We have to make the team. We have to strengthen the team a lot and make a new project. We are going to wait for the Euros to finish and then the rush will come."

Greenwood spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Getafe, where he registered ten goals and six assist in 36 appearances across all competitions.
