Rudiger: I've never experienced anything like what Ancelotti did for me

Having joined Real Madrid from Chelsea in July, defender Antonio Rudiger has now shared a heart-warming story about his new boss Carlo Ancelotti.

The Germany international enjoyed a successful five years at Stamford Bridge, where he won five major honours, including the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, and the UEFA Europa League.

The 29-year-old decided to leave the London club as a free agent after talks between his representatives and the Blues fell apart earlier this year.

Real wasted little time swooping up the centre-back, who has now opened up about a heartfelt moment he had with Ancelotti upon his arrival in Spain.

"I had only been in our new house with my family for a few hours – we were just barbecuing – and the doorbell suddenly rang," Rudiger told German outlet Sport1.

"I opened it and Carlo Ancelotti was just standing in front of me. A wow moment.

"He sat down at the table with us, ate with us and got to know my family.

"Very normal, very down to earth. He was there for two hours, we talked about everything.

"I'll be honest, I've never experienced anything like it, no coach has ever done something like that for me.

"After the few months with him, I have to say: When it comes to dealing with players, Ancelotti is untouchable. Stop Don Carlo, a coaching legend – he already collected Champions League titles when I was a child.
