Atalanta 4-1 Valencia

Atalanta have one foot in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League after thumping Valencia 4-1 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Hans Hateboer got the Serie A outfit off to the perfect start by opening the scoring after 16 minutes with his first goal of the campaign.

The influential Josip Ilicic managed to double the home side's lead three minutes before the halftime.

Remo Freulier made it 3-0 on 57 minutes before Hateboer completed his brace five minutes later for Atalanta's fourth goal.

Second-half substitute Denis Cheryshev gave the LaLiga outfit some hope after netting in the 66th minute, but they have an uphill task on their hands to oveturn the first-leg deficit in three weeks.

Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig took advantage in their last 16 tie after defeating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in North London on Wednesdat evening.

Without Harry Kane and Heung-min Son, Dele Alli led the attack for the North London outfit while Leipzig were without star defender Dayot Upamecano as on-loan Chelsea starlet Ethan Ampadu.

The first half belonged to the Bundesliga outfit, although they were let down by Timo Werner's finishing in front of goal.

Werner would make up for the misses in the second stanza after converting a penalty in the 58th minute after Ben Davies had brought down Konrad Laimer.
