UEFA Champions League wrap

Liverpool finished at the top of Group E in the UEFA Champions League with a 2-0 victory over Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday.

Following a goalless first half, the defending champions went ahead through Naby Keita after 57 minutes with Mohamed Salah netting the second a minute later.

Whilst the Reds advance to the last 16, the home side enter the UEFA Europa League after finishing third in the group.

Napoli also qualified for the knockout stages for the first time in three years following a 4-0 triumph at home to Genk in the group's other clash in Naples.

Arkadiusz Milik netted a first half hat-trick, his last a penalty seven minutes before halftime. Dries Mertens capped his 300th appearance with the side's fourth from the spot late in the second half.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti's future remains in the air as reports prior stated that he will resign following this particular encounter.
