Paris Saint-Germain progressed to a UEFA Champions League final for the first time in their history with a 3-0 victory over RB Leipzig in Lisbon on Tuesday evening.
PSG had the first opportunity of the match. Neymar was put through one on one with Peter Gulacsi by Kylian Mbappe, but the Brazilian's effort hit the upright.
The Parisians took the lead in the 13th minute as Leipzig were made to pay from a free-kick – Angel Di Maria curling in a wicked cross from which Marquinhos, who was left unmarked on the edge of the six-yard box, guided a brilliant header home.
Mbappe had a chance to double the lead but his shot was saved at the near post by Gulacsi. Soon after, Konrad Laimer did brilliantly to get on the end of Dani Olmo's pass and get the better of Leandro Paredes. He cut it back to Yussuf Poulsen, but the Denmark international drilled wide.
Leipzig were dealt a cruel blow, going 2-0 behind on the stroke of half-time courtesy of a dreadful mistake from Gulacsi. His risky pass out to midfield was intercepted with the ball passed to Neymar, who flicked the ball in to Di Maria's path with the Argentine coolly sliding the ball past the Leipzig keeper.
The French outfit had their third in the 56th minute through Juan Bernat, who met Di Maria's cross to head with Gulacsi only able to help the ball across the line.
Mbappe should have made it four in the 70th minute but he headed wide from another Di Maria delivery. Soon after, Mbappe had another opportunity when he skipped past Dayot Upamecano and drilled the ball towards goal but Gulacsi stood firm to make a solid stop.
With two minutes to go, Pablo Sarabia got down the right flank and curled in a brilliant cross towards Neymar who, under pressure from Marcel Sabitzer, completely missed his attempted kick.
