UEFA Champions League group stage wrap 17 October 2017

APOEL Nicosia held Borussia Dortmund to a shock 1-1 draw in Group H.

Mickaël Poté opened the scoring for APOEL, and although Sokratis Papastathopoulos equalised, Dortmund will be disappointed with the result.

Manchester City beat Napoli 2-1 to retain their 100% record in Group F.

Goals from Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus put City in the driving seat early on. Amadou Diawara pulled one back from the penalty spot, but the Citizens held on for the win.

Liverpool trounced Maribor 7-0 in a serious statement of Champions League intent.

Roberto Firmino opened the scoring for Liverpool before Philippe Coutinho made it 2-0. Mohamed Salah then scored twice before half-time to all but seal the game.

To make matters worse for Maribor, Firmino scored after half-time before Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Trent Alexander-Arnold strikes sealed the rout.

Tottenham Hotspur claimed an impressive 1-1 draw away to Real Madrid.

A Raphaël Varane own goal put Spurs in front, but Cristiano Ronaldo equalised from the spot just before half-time.

Los Blancos continued to attack throughout the second half, but Spurs held firm to claim a vital point.
