Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery expects fierce Champions League clash against Bayern Munich

The two titans of modern football will clash when French giants PSG host the Bundesliga champions in the UEFA Champions League tonight.

And while PSG are considered amongst the world’s best teams, Emery is fully aware of the threat Bayern possess.

“We’ll be up against a great team, a club with a huge history,” Emery told the press. “Bayern Munich want to win this competition. So this match is a great opportunity for us to show where we’re at.

“It’s a long time since Bayern came here to Paris to play, so we cant wait.”

Both PSG and Bayern are top of Group B following convincing victories over Celtic and RSC Anderlecht on matchday one but tonight’s encounter is undoubtedly the one Emery would be worried about.

Although he has Angel Di Maria and Neymar back in his attacking arsenal, the coach knows their German opposition have plenty to choose from as well.

He added: “It’s true that we want to top the group, and that’s why we want to win this and make the difference. Bayern have a lot of players in attack and defence. We have worked on the different options they can line up with on the field.

“They could have James, Lewandowski, a two- or three-man midfield. They could start with one system and finish with another. That’s why we will have to work hard for 90 minutes.”

The must-watch encounter will take place tonight at the Parc des Princes in Paris at 20h45.
