PSG suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday evening, with Erling Haaland netting a brace, while Neymar scored the away goal for the Ligue 1 champions.
With Neymar returning to the team after a four-match absence, he's hit out at the club's management of his fitness as the chances of advancing to the last-eight of the competition for the first time in four seasons hangs in the balance.
The Brazil forward has notably suffered serious injuries for the French giants during the mid-way mark of the season and they opted not to rush him back from his latest blow, which he suggests has been counterproductive.
"Unfortunately I had to accept that. I did not like what they proposed to me, but the club is in charge, unfortunately. But that ends up being bad for me and my teammates.
"I was injured, I had a crack in my rib, but it was nothing to stop me from playing. I was prepared to play against Lyon [on Feb. 9] but they postponed my return. Then they postponed it again and then they postponed it again."
He added: "I understand the fear, because I was injured in the last two years, I respect it, but it can't be like that.
"It was very difficult for me to play a game like that, intense. I think that if I was in better physical condition, I would certainly have a much better game."
The world-record transfer holder has scored 16 goals and registered 10 assists in 19 games across all competitions this season.
