Neymar could miss UEFA Champions League final after RB Leipzig shirt swap

The Brazil international was in inspirational form as PSG eased past the Bundesliga surprise package 3-0 and wreaked havoc alongside Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria to book a place in the final of Europe's elite club competition.

In what represents the French side's first-ever Champions League final, Neymar could miss the tie against either Bayern Munich or Olympique Lyon after breaking UEFA protocols after the game.

The world-record transfer holder was pictured swapping shirts with Leipzig defender Marcel Halstenberg at full-time which is common practice in the modern game but currently goes against the rulings during the coronavirus pandemic.

Strict regulations were set in place for the resumption of the competition and within the 31-page document for health and safety guidelines 'players are recommended to refrain from swapping their shirts'.

While there is no clear punishment stipulated within the dossier, it states non-compliance could lead to disciplinary measures in accordance with the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations.

And after his mishap, there are growing fears that Neymar could be hit with a suspension that could rule him out of the biggest game in the club's history.

Neymar has scored 19 goals and registered 12 assists in 26 games across all competitions this season.
