In a decision that could play a crucial role in the title race this season, LASK has dropped into second place after being slapped with a six-point deduction for holding private training sessions during the national lockdown.
With the Austrian top-flight set to resume next week on 2 June, the league has confirmed the club broke the rules of 'fair play' and have also been fined €75,000 (R1.4-million).
Despite LASK admitting the started training on 14 May and held four separate training sessions and both coach Valerien Ismael and vice-president Jurgen Werner offering apologies - they also confirmed the decision will be appealed.
According to ESPN FC, the club has 14 days to officially lodge their appeal before the decision can no longer be reversed.
Ismael's side returns to league action on Wednesday as they host sixth-placed Hartberg at the Raiffeisen Arena.
