PSG head coach Thomas Tuchel was seen offering 'Gana' a warm embrace after his immense display against Real Madrid and what he told the Senegal star has now been revealed.
Idrissa Gueye joined PSG in the off-season after the Ligue 1 champions chased the Senegal midfielder for over 12 months - with Everton reluctant to allow the tireless midfielder to depart.
While his arrival was met with much less fanfare as the usual superstar signings in recent memory, the 29-year-old is showcasing why he might go down as one of their best signings this season.
'Gana', alongside Marco Veratti and Marquinhos ran the show at the Parc des Princes, leaving Los Blancos stars James Rodriguez, Toni Kroos and Camemiro in their wake.
And after the game, Tuchel was quizzed about his notable moment with the African star and what was said in the emotional moment.
"We fought hard to hire this player. He is a machine! (laughs). He never stops running, wins a lot of balls and against a team like Real Madrid, this is very important," Tuchel said, as translated into English via Trivela. "It was a good combination between the three, with Marquinhos and Verratti, with great intensity and possession of the ball." Captain Thiago Silva also showered the midfielder with praise after the Champions League masterclass. "Amazing. I have no words for that," the Brazilian said. "I don't know how many balls he stole, and it wasn't easy balls either. He played a great game today."O abraço de Thomas Tuchel depois do jogo indica o tanto que o Gueye jogou contra o Real Madrid: https://t.co/x8D56KFDTc
