A supporter ran onto the Celtic Park playing surface in midweek before seemingly attempting to aim a kick at the Frenchman during the first-half of PSG’s 5-0 thrashing of the Scottish giants.
Mbappe, who arrived at PSG on loan from Monaco with a £166m permanent deal waiting in the wings next year, had already found the back of the net in Glasgow - scoring the Parisians’ second - before being confronted by the irate fan.
Celtic are also now facing further sanctions from UEFA for failing to control the crowd, having been fined £20,000 by European football’s governing body for crowd trouble during their European Cup qualifier against Linfield in July.
That was, shockingly, Celtic’s 11th sanction in six seasons relating to crowd trouble, having incurred over £160,000 worth of fines during that period.
