Arsenal and Paris St Germain played to a thrilling draw in the UEFA Champions League

Both teams have 11 points from their five matches to date, with PSG ahead on the head-to-head, though they will rue a number of missed opportunities on Wednesday night.

They took the lead through the Uruguayan Edinson Cavani, but Olivier Giroud equalised from the penalty-spot and the home side were ahead when Marco Verratti scored a spectacular own goal.

But the French side drew level as Lucas Moura, before Cavani missed three excellent chances to win the game.

Lionel Messi scored twice as Barcelona defeated Glasgow Celtic 2-0 to ensure top spot in Group C. This after Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw at Borussia Moenchengladbach as David Silva equalised for the English side.

Bayern Munich were stunned 3-2 at Russian club FC Rostov and will have to settle for runners-up spot in Group D.

Group B is still very much open after Napoli were held 0-0 by Dynamo Kiev and Besiktas and Benfica drew 3-3.

Napoli and Benfica have eight points, with Turkish side Benfica a point back.
