Buffon may have only been a substitute as Juventus were eliminated by Olympique Lyon last weekend but he is yet to lift Europe's premier club trophy after over 20 years in the game.

The Italian World Cup winner has featured in two finals, but ended up on the losing against AC Milan (2003) and Real Madrid (2017).
Buffon's former Juventus teammate, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, also features on the list although the Swedish striker is yet to reach the final of the competition.
Ibrahimovic has represented Ajax Amsterdam, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Manchester United who have all lifted the UEFA Champions League crown.

There have also been a couple Ballon d'Or winners who have never won the Champions League, including Michael Owen who played for Liverpool and Real Madrid.
