Serie A match report Juventus v Torino

Juventus claimed the bragging rights in the Derby della Mole on Saturday evening after thrashing Torino, with Cristiano Ronaldo netting his 25th of the season.

Veteran goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon set a new 648 appearance record in the league, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala who were on target in midweek leading the way upfront.

Juventus wasted no time stamping their authority when Dybala cut into the area, beat two challengers before finding the far corner albeit with the help of a deflection inside two minutes.

Ronaldo got his first sight on goal when he drifted wide, cut into the area before stinging the palms of Salvatore Sirigu from close-range before 20 minutes.

Juve eventually got a second a minute before the half-hour mark when a fast-paced counterattack ended with Juan Cuadrado, who opened a yard space on the right for a bottom corner finish.

The Granata got a lifeline on the cusp of halftime when Andrea Belotti powered home from the spot after Matthijs De Ligt was flagged for handling in the area by the Video Assistant Referee.

No substitutions off the bench followed after halftime, as Belotti nearly pulled the visitors level off a rebound from close-range minutes in.

The match began opening up towards the midway period with Simone Verdi bringing Buffon to a strong save from range, as Douglas Costa replaced Federico Bernardeschi.

Ronaldo however rewrote the club's record books when he smashed home his 25th league goal of the season with a stunning 30-metre free-kick 61 minutes in.

Juventus had a fourth in the last four minutes when a cross from the left-hand side by Costa found Koffi Djidji, who slotted into his own net-giving the hosts the Turin bragging rights.

Lazio 0-3 AC Milan

Lazio's Serie A title hopes suffered a big setback after a 3-0 loss to AC Milan.

The hosts were looking to keep the pressure on Juventus, who had thrashed Torino earlier on Saturday.

However, Lazio were silenced early on after Milan went 2-0 up thanks to strikes from Hakan Çalhanoglu and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The home side were put out of their misery with 30 minutes left, with Ante Rebic getting on the score-sheet.
