Serie A match report Juventus v Lecce

Juventus extended their lead at the top of Serie A to seven points with a 4-0 triumph over Lecce on Friday evening, with Cristiano Ronaldo playing a key role.

Danilo's suspension following his dismissal against Bologna saw Blaise Matuidi slot into the left-bakc role while Alex Sandro and Mattia De Sciglio still sat on the sidelines.

Lecce, who impressively held Juve in the reverse fixture, pushed forward and almost earned their rewards with Andrea Rispoli flashing Filippo Falco's tee-up wide off target four minutes in.

Lecce were down to ten men after the half-hour mark when Fabio Lucioni clipped Rodrigo Bentancur 40 yards from goal with the latter the last man. A minute later, Ronaldo missed a golden chance to give Juve the lead after heading a corner over the crossbar.

Federico Bernardeschi followed suit after sending a low cross from out wide by Ronaldo over the top with the goal in clear sight 43 minutes gone.

The Old Lady hit the front eight minutes from the break courtesy of Paulo Dybala, who arrowed into the top right-corner with a curling left-footed strike.

A foul in the six-yard area on Ronaldo in the 61st minute granted the Bianconeri a spot kick, which the self-same Ronaldo tucked away for his 23rd league goal of the season.

Gabriel remained the busier of the two goalkeepers, going low to turn Matthijs De Ligt's strike to safety before turning Ramsey's strike around the post as well with 15 minutes left.

Juventus went for a third and it came after Gonzalo Higuain showed composure to smartly dink over Gabriel in the final seven minutes.

It was four within two minutes when De Ligt connected with Douglas Costa's probing delivery before heading home to givie Juventus a comfortable victory in the end.
