Romelu Lukaku takes aim at 'King' Zlatan Ibrahimovic after Inter derby win over AC Milan

Romelu Lukaku has sent a clear message to AC Milan superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic after Inter reigned supreme in a fiery Milan derby to move back to the summit of Serie A.

When Ibrahimovic made his high-profile return to the Italian giants last month, it was declared in Italian media that 'the king' was back.

And it appeared that way when the veteran striker scored an assisted to hand Milan a 2-0 advantage going into half-time at the San Siro.

However, Antonio Conte's men sparked a historic comeback in the second-half with Lukaku netting the last of four unanswered goals as they moved ahead of Juventus once again in the title race.

After the 4-2 comeback victory, Lukaku took to social media to declare 'there's a new king in town' which is seemingly aimed at the legendary striker.

Lukaku has been in scintillating form for the Nerazzurri since his off-season arrival from Manchester United, with his 17 goals in 23 games spearheading his side to end the Bianconeri Scudetto dominance.

"I think that everyone has seen this team's mentality, we never give up and we're always looking to win," Lukaku told Football Italia.

"I'm here to win and my only aim is to help the team get results. I want to thank all of the fans, my team-mates, Mister [Antonio] Conte and all of his backroom staff for the support that they're giving me."

Ibrahimovic was left less than impressed with his side's second-half performance as defeat left them in 10th place and 22 points off their fierce rivals.

"It's difficult to explain what happened," the Sweden icon said. "At half-time, we told ourselves the first 15 minutes going back out there will be crucial, and in that 15-minute spell, we conceded two goals.

"We stopped playing, the team stopped believing, we stopped pressing, didn't pass it around enough. From the equaliser onwards, everything collapsed."
