Mario Balotelli linked with Serie C side Como

Mario Balotelli appears to be reaching a new low in his dramatic fall from grace after reportedly opening talks with a third division side in Italy.

Following a string of controversies throughout the season, Balotelli looks set to leave Brescia when the campaign draws to a close next weekend.

The 29-year-old joined his boyhood club on a free transfer from Marseille at the start of the season, but his time back in Italy has been marred by an ongoing feud with Brescia owner Massimo Cellino.

As a result of a war of words between the pair, which has reportedly seen both parties taking legal action, Balotelli looks set to leave the club and could now drop down two divisions.

That comes after Michael Gandler, the executive director of Serie C side Como, revealed that his club had been in contact with the Italy international's agent over a potential deal.

"There's been some contact between the two parties," Gandler told La Provincia di Como.

"His representatives sat down to listen to us. I can't say any more than that."

Como's approach for Balotelli, who has previously played for the likes of Inter Milan, AC Milan, Manchester City and Liverpool, appears to be part of billionaire owner Robert Budi Hartono's plan propel the club to Serie A in the coming years.
