Lionel Messi: Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri breaks silence on FC Barcelona captain links

Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri has made his stance clear on their reported interest in FC Barcelona captain Lionel Messi.

Uncertainty surrounding Messi's future with Barcelona erupted last week after the player's spat with former teammate and now club sporting director, Eric Abidal.

The former France international criticised the squad for not working hard enough under Ernesto Valverde, who recently was sacked by the club and replaced by Quique Setién.

Messi took to social media to slam Abidal actions which caused further disharmony within the club to the point where the club's president reportedly intervened to resolve the rising conflict.

And since the incident, Messi has been linked with a move away from the club, with Manchester City and Juventus said to be monitoring the situation.

However, Sarri was quite clear in his answer when asked about a potential move for the record six-time Ballon d'Or winner

"Leo is a Barcelona player," Sarri said, as per IBT. "If I were a Barca board member, I would say: 'What the f--k does this Sarri want'? So I'd rather not respond to this question."

Despite Juventus challenging on all fronts this season, Sarri's future has come under question with the league title in the balance against Antonio Conte's Inter.
