Cristiano Ronaldo writes his name into the history books again

Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo claimed yet another piece of history on Monday evening when he achieved a feat no other player in the history of the game as achieved.

On Monday evening, Ronaldo put the Bianconeri within touching distance of the 2019/20 Serie A crown after netting twice in quick succession in the second half of his side's 2-1 win over nearest rivals Lazio.

The Portugal international's opening goal was his 50th in the competition in just his 61st appearance, and saw him become the first-ever player to score 50 goals or more in each of the Premier League, LaLiga and Serie A.

Ronaldo reached the milestone in England with Manchester United, where he scored 84 league goals in 196 appearances, while he netted an incredible 311 times in 292 matches during his time in the Spanish top flight with Real Madrid.

The 35-year-old is also the fastest player in the past 15 years to reach the figure in Italy, beating former AC Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko by seven appearances, with Brazil legend Ronaldo Nazario needing a further two games.

In addition, Ronaldo's brace saw him become only the third player in Juventus' history to score 30 or more goals in a single Serie A campaign, joining club legends Felice Borel and John Hansen on the exclusive list.
