Cristiano Ronaldo could leave Juventus at the end of the Serie A season

Cristiano Ronaldo could leave Juventus at the end of the season after just two seasons since his club-record transfer from Real Madrid.

Ronaldo, 35, made a surprise move to the Serie A champions €100-million transfer in July 2018 after nine glittering seasons with Los Blancos.

Having won 15 major titles and become the club-record goalscorer with 450 goals in 438 games across all competitions, Ronaldo cited the move as a 'new challenge'.

And his move to Italy, despite his advancing age, has been equally successful, with 42 goals in the league in 52 games and on course for a second league title with the Bianconeri.

However, Italian broadcaster Radio Rossonera reported on Wednesday that the Portugal captain is now considering leaving the club.

According to Sport Mediaset, the uncertainty surrounding his future arose during the coronavirus crisis, as the highest-earner at the club, his departure would ease the financial implications that club's endured during the global pandemic.

While there's been no indication of interested clubs, Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have been long-term admirers of the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, while a move to Major League Soccer has not been ruled out.

Overall, Ronaldo has scored 53 goals and registered 14 assists in 75 games for Juventus across all competitions since his arrival two years ago.
