Such incidents have been quite common during manager Erik ten Hag's reign at the club so far, with notable examples including Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, and Antony, although the latter's case was less of an internal club issue.
Rashford is now believed to be the latest player to get into the bad books at Old Trafford, with the Englishman said to have missed training on Friday after he was spotted partying at a nightclub in Belfast in Northern Ireland.
The forward claimed to be ill when he did not report to training the following morning.
Ten Hag subsequently dropped Rashford from the squad for their 4-2 FA Cup win against Newport County on Sunday, with the Dutchman telling reporters this was due to an internal matter.
According to the Daily Star, the England international now faces strict punishment for his actions as he is set to be slapped with a huge fine of £650 000 (R15.5 million), which is said to be about two weeks of his wages.
A source told The Sun: "When it was first suggested Marcus had missed training because he had been out the night before, he denied it.
"It's amazing that he thought he could go to a club full of people and claim it didn't happen. The manager will feel very let down."
