Man Utd star 'offered up' in swap deal

Manchester United are now reportedly prepared to offer up one of their star players in a swap deal in a bid to strengthen their squad.

According to the Daily Star, the Red Devils are eyeing up a move for Crystal Palace's French midfielder Michael Olise during the next transfer window, with defender Aaron Wan Bissaka and a sum of cash being offered in exchange.

The 22-year-old is reportedly one of the top targets United have earmarked for when Sir Jim Ratcliffe's £1.2 billion (R28 billion) takeover of the club's sporting operations kicks in to gear.

The Eagles, meanwhile, are believed to be eager to welcome Wan Bisakka back to Selhurst Park. This comes after the Manchester side exercised the option to extend the full-back's contract, which was due to expire at the end of this campaign, by another year.

It is said that the Old Trafford outfit are hopeful that their knowledge of Palace's desire for the defender's return would boost their chances of landing Olise as one of the new signings that would kickstart Ratcliffe and INEOS' tenure at the club.

The English full-back, who is yet to make a senior appearance for England, moved to Manchester from Selhurst Park in 2019 for a reported fee of £50 million (R1.1 billion). He has since made 175 appearances for the side in all competitions.

Olise, meanwhile, made the move to Palace in 2021 and has since been a revelation at the club, making 80 senior appearances in which he scored 11 goals and assisted 20 times.

This season, the Frenchman has been one of his side's stand-out performers, bagging five goals and one assist in nine league games.
