The Morocco international joins the club on loan until June 2024, with an "option to buy" clause included in the deal, with negotiations with Fiorentian having run on for more than a month now.
The total fee for the deal is said to be €20 million (R405 million), plus add-ons of €5 million (R101 million), should it be made permanent at the end of the campaign, with €10 million (R405 million) of that amount to be paid up front as a loan fee.
The 27-year-old came into the spotlight when he impressed many at the 2022 FIFA World Cup with the Atlas Lions, helping them to a historic fourth-place finish at the tournament in Qatar.
United's capture of the player's signature was not easy, though, as the Red Devils had to fend off competition from Liverpool before structuring feasible terms to sign him due to their unfavourable position within the Premier League's financial sustainability regulations, which is a big reason why there is an initial loan term to the deal.
