PSG hold surprise 'talks' with Premier League coach

Paris Saint-Germain reportedly held talks with a certain Premier League manager after negotiations with Julian Nagelsmann broke down.

Nagelsmann was seemingly close to taking charge of the Ligue 1 champions, but talks broke down in the last couple days after the two parties could not agree to certain details.

However, RMC have now reported the French giants have held talks with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta over the possibility of taking charge.

Arteta enjoyed a good season with the Gunners, who challenged for the Premier League title but had to settle for second place as Manchester City went on to lift a third straight title.

The Spanish tactician does have a deal at the Emirates Stadium that runs until 2024, but the report claims the coach and PSG sporting director Luis Campos have met for talks.

Coach Christophe Galtier is expected to be shown the door by PSG after just one season, which means the French club are looking for their fourth coach in five years.

RMC Sport did add that Campos is not the key decision-maker at PSG, with talks only taking place to see if Arteta would be interested.

Zinedine Zidane, Luis Enrique and Jose Mourinho have all been linked with the PSG coaching job, but it remains to be seen if they are any closer to finding the man they want.
