Ligue 1 match report AS Monaco v Paris Saint-Germain

PSG came into the encounter with four changes Layvin Kurzawa, Presnel Kimpembe, Tanguy Kouassi and Colin Dagba. Fode Ballo-Toure was the only change for Monaco following Sunday's 3-3 thriller.

The deadlocked was broken after 24 minutes after Kylian Mbappe went clear to slot home Angel Di Maria's delivery, with the Video Assistant Referee approving the strike.

Monaco looked to level matters six minutes thereafter, but Keylor Navas denied Gelson Martins following a quick breakaway with Mbappe denied at the other end in a frantic spell.

The champions doubled their lead shortly before halftime after Kurzawa went down in the area under a challenge from Kamil Glik and Neymar coolly lashed home the resultant penalty.

PSG didn't let up following the second half, as Mbappe had a chance to make it three from a quick counter-attack but was unable to beat Benjamin Lecomte who parried the strike.

Thomas Tuchel refreshed his armoury with a double change towards conclusion, as Marco Verratti and Pablo Sarabia made their way on the field.

Then a minute from entering, Sarabia introduced himself with a smartly taken finish as he volleyed home Verratti's dink over the top of the defence.

Monaco responded with a consolation three minutes to the end after Tiemoue Bakayoko capitalised on poor goalkeeping from Navas to slot home a free-kick.

Mbappe had the final say when he got on the end of a quick counterattack to finish beyond Lecomte after being played through by Neymar, as PSG extend their lead at the top.
