Messi's father now appears to have confirmed that a deal has been all but agreed for the free agent.

According to La Sexta h/t Fabrizio Romano, Jorge replied to a reporter's question with: "Yes, Leo's going to sign with Paris Saint-Germain today."

Per Romano, the 34-year-old will sign a two-year-deal with the option to extend until June 2024, while his salary will be about €35 million (R608 million) net per season, with add-ons included.

Romano also claimed that: "Messi's camp working directly with PSG to plan for press conference and official unveiling on Wednesday... flying to Paris soon."

If he signs, Messi will be Les Parisiens' sixth signing of the window after they completed the acquisitions of Achraf Hakimi, Georginio Wijnaldum, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos and Danilo Pereira.
