His solo goal against German giants Borussia Dortmund in a thrilling 4-3 defeat has made him one of the standout players in the ongoing tournament.

Ribeiro's contribution has played a key role in keeping Masandawana's hopes alive to secure a place in the Round of 16.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder's impressive form on the global stage has not gone unnoticed, with reports suggesting clubs in France have already expressed interest in him.

Sundowns are set to face Fluminense at the Hard Rock Stadium on Wednesday evening in a must-win match. Only three points will secure their progression to the next stage.

In an honest admission ahead of the game, Ribeiro revealed that he has been a lifelong fan of his country's club Palmeiras after being influenced by his father.

"You know that we, players, support the team we play for, but I have always supported Palmeiras," Ribeiro said per Terra.com.
