Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Inter Miami 4-0 and booked their spot in the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-finals on Sunday evening.
The French giants started Bradley Barcola up top ahead of Ousmane Dembele, while Jordi Alba came in as the sole change for Inter Miami from their last match with Palmeiras.
PSG pulled in front in the sixth minute when a curling free-kick by Vitinha picked out Joao Neves, who stepped in at the far post to head into the bottom corner.
Inter coach Javier Mascherano made a substitution in the opening-quarter after a knock forced Noah Allen to make way for Tomas Aviles.
There was no letting up by the French giants as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia came close to adding a second goal a little later from a tight angle in the area, but he was repelled timeously.
Neves turned up once more nine minutes ahead of halftime when he found space in the centre of the area and tucked in a square pass from Fabian Ruiz.
Miami continued to capitulate as a cross to the heart of the six-yard area coincided with Aviles, who bundled into his own net from point-blank range.
Morocco international Achraf Hakimi got in on the act a minute to the break when he made an under-lapping run to the area and rifled home from close range.
The treble champions turned to the bench at the resumption and hauled Warren Zaire-Emery in for Ruiz whilst removed captain Marquinhos for Lucas Beraldo.
Barcola could’ve added more five minutes following the break through a smartly worked attempt outside the area, but Oscar Ustari palmed over.
With the French giants in complete ascendancy, the American outfit grew in leaps and bounds as the minutes ticked on though continued to find the going tough.
Lionel Messi got his first shot at goal ten minutes to the end when he drew a sharp save from goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma with a stern header.
PSG ran down the final minutes and secured a comfortable victory, with Inter Miami eliminated from the tournament.
