Inter Miami coach Gerardo Martino has responded to reports about FC Barcelona hoping to sign Lionel Messi on loan.
Spanish publication Sport reported this week that Barcelona are lining up a loan move to give Messi a chance for a proper send-off.
However, Inter Miami will not be heading to the play-offs after a 1-0 defeat to Cincinnati FC on Saturday and the team only have two games left this month before the new season starts in February next year.

Martino insists he is unaware of his talisman returning to the Camp Nou in a deal when the January transfer window.
"Is he going for fun? Maybe he's going to visit Barcelona," said Martino, as per 90min.
"Other than that, I don't know anything else about it."
Inter Miam co-owner Jorge Mas recently stated they want give Messi the right send off by orgainising a match against the Catalan giants.
"Messi's departure from Barcelona was not to his liking. He could not say goodbye to his club, which welcomed him as a child, and I think the circumstances were not what Lionel wanted,' Mas told Marca.
"I gave [Messi] my commitment that I will do everything possible in the coming years so that he has the opportunity to say goodbye to his fans in Barcelona.
"Inter Miami will go [to Barcelona] or we will have some kind of match."
