A statement from the Premier Leagud club reads: "We are pleased to confirm the signing of Ansu Fati on a season-long loan from Barcelona. The 20-year-old made 36 La Liga appearances last season for Barca, as they secured their first title for four years."
His new head coach Roberto De Zerbi adds: "This is a great deal for all of us. I am sure Ansu will help us to reach a new target and we can help him get back at the level he deserves to be."
The move comes after several weeks of speculation regarding his future, with reports suggesting that Blaugrana boss Xavi Hernandez could not guarantee him the game time he desires this season ahead of the 2024 UEFA European Championship.
The Premier League side is understood to have agreed to cover 80% of Fati's wages for the duration of the deal.
The transfer also does not include a buy option at the end of the 2023/24 campaign, however, as Barcelona still count on him given his huge potential and his status as one of La Masia's most highly regarded graduates in recent times.
Earlier reports had suggested that he was torn between a switch to the Seagulls and staying in Spain and signing for Sevilla instead, but he will now spend the next 10 months calling the Amex Stadium his new home.
