Arsenal opened their Premier League season on a winning note after defeating Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.
After losing the Premier League title last season to Manchester City by only two points, the Gunners lined up with familiar faces, as Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka flanked Kai Havertz in attack.
Mikel Arteta's charges were a threat from the early exchanges as goalkeeper Jose Sa denied Saka's low effort after he had repelled a deflected shot from Ben White.
Havertz eventually broke the deadlock for Arsenal on 25 minutes with a well taken header from an inviting cross by Saka.
Wolves got into the game ten minutes before the break after shot-stopper David Raya made a brilliant save to keep out a powerful header by Jorgen Strand Larsen.
The Gunners regained control of the game towards the end of the first stanza and pinned Wolves in their own half and went to the interval with a narrow lead.
Arsenal were cautious in the early stages of the second stanza, as they kept their shape and waited for Gary O'Neil's men to come to them but the visitors did not have enough creativity.
However, Rayan Ait-Nouri came close to snatching the equaliser for Wolves on 64 minutes with a strike from the edge of the box that flashed just wide.
As the game opened up, Arsenal capitalized 16 minutes before time after Saka cut inside and fired a low shot into the bottom corner after he linked up with Havertz.
Instead of defending, Arteta made a tactical and attacking change in the dying minutes as Gabriel Jesus replaced Declan Rice.
The Gunners were home and dry in the tail end as they clinched a comfortable win.
Arsenal will be away to Aston Villa in their upcoming fixture next Saturday while Wolves will host Chelsea next Sunday.
