Premier League's UCL spots decided!

Fulham 0-2 Manchester City

Manchester City secured third place in the league and in a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League following a 2-0 victory over Fulham out at Craven Cottage.

Nico Gonzalez came in for the suspended Mateo Kovacic and Kevin De Bruyne started on the bench in his final game for the club.

Ilkay Gundogan broke the deadlock in sumptuous fashion when he displayed a superb overhead kick at the back-post after the Cottagers fluffed their lines.

City made the points safe in the closing stages after Erling Haaland fired home from the penalty spot following a foul on Gundogan in the area.

Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace

Newly-crowned Premier League champions Liverpool concluded their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace in the final day on Sunday.

Ismaila Sarr stunned the Reds in the ninth minute when he got in-between two defenders and applied a composed close-range finish.

Liverpool finished the match with ten players inside the closing stages as midfielder Ryan Gravenberch was given a straight red card for bringing down Diachi Kamada as the last man.

The sending off didn’t unsettle the newly-crowned champions, who were level six minutes from time when Salah lashed in a thumping volley following a loose ball and forced out a stalemate.

Nottingham Forest 0-1 Chelsea

Chelsea will return to the pinnacle of European club football next season following a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

Jadon Sancho started as the Blues sole change from the draw with Manchester United and replaced Tyrique George in the starting stall.

The Blues raced ahead when Levi Colwill tucked in a cross-field delivery at the back-post following Pedro Neto’s assist.

Southampton 1-2 Arsenal

Arsenal concluded their campaign on a positive note and recorded a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the relegated Southampton at St Mary’s.

After a quiet opening, the Gunners seized control moments to halftime when Kieran Tierney popped up at the front-post of the area and executed Ben White’s delivery.

The Saints were level ten minutes after the break courtesy of a thumping header by Ross Stewart following a pin-point corner-kick by Mateus Fernandes.

Arsenal still went on to claim the points when captain Martin Odegaard rose the fore with a tremendous finish into the bottom-corner from 20 yards out.

Manchester United 2-0 Aston Villa

Manchester United’s disappointing campaign in the league ended with a 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

United named three changes from the loss to Tottenham Hotspur midweek in Altay Bayindir, Victor Lindelof and Ayden Heaven, as the Clarets came unchanged from their last match.

The Clarets were reduced to ten men on the brink of halftime when goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez crashed into striker Rasmus Hojlund and picked up a straight red card.

With a draw on the cards, United struck the opener late on when Amad Diallo got on the end of a cross by Bruno Fernandes and nodded in smartly.

Villa were undone again as Christian Eriksen fired in from the penalty spot after Diallo went down in the six-yard box.

Newcastle United 0-1 Everton

Newcastle United claimed fifth-place and qualified for next season’s Champions League despite suffering a 1-0 loss to Everton.

Magpies’ top-five aspirations were dealt a huge blow in the middle of the second stanza when Carlos Alcaraz headed in the bottom-corner following a cross by Vitaliy Mykolenko.

The Toffees held on to the lead as the Magpies failed to stage a comeback, but they qualified for the Champions League due to a superior goal difference over Villa/.
