Man Utd 'lead' race for R1.7 billion-rated African star

Manchester United are reportedly leading the race to sign a certain African star, who is believed to be worth £70 million (R1.7 billion).

The Red Devils are expected to revamp the playing squad for Ruben Amorim next season, with the club expected to have a number of outgoings and new arrivals.

Amorim will definitly look to bolster the attack and the club have been linked with a number of names going into the off-season, as the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony are expected to leave.

Sky Sports News reported that the Red Devils are the front-runners to sign Bournemouth Antoine Semenyo.

The Ghana international has been a key performer for Bournemouth this season, registering eight goals and four assists in 31 appeaarances in the Premier League.

Semenyo's performances for the Cherries has seen the attacker mooted for a move to a bigger club in England next season.

The report does add that Premier League rivals Liverpool and Arsenal are also said to be interested in the Ghanaian attacker, who still has four years left on his Bournemouth contract.
