According to the Sunday Mirror, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is hoping to bolster his squad in January with the double acquisition of Brighton stars Ben White and Bissouma.
It is claimed that centre-back White is the German tactician's primary target as he looks to alleviate the Reds' defensive injury crisis that has stemmed from the long-term injuries suffered by Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss is also said to have received glowing reviews about Ivory Coast-born Mali international Bissouma, who has impressed for the Seagulls in a box-to-box midfield role in recent times.
The Merseysiders are reportedly keeping an eye on the 24-year-old in the event that Georginio Wijnaldum does not extend his current contract with the club, which is set to expire at the end of the campaign.
Should the Reds complete a transfer for Bissouma, he would become only the third Malian player ever to represent the club, after Djimi Traore and Momo Sissoko, and would join an ever-expanding African contingent at Anfield.
Klopp's current crop of players includes reigning African Footballer of the Year Sadio Mane, two-time Premier League Golden Boot winner Mohamed Salah, former Cameroon international Joel Matip and Guinea star Naby Keita, while young Algeria defender Yasser Larouci has also already featured for the first team.
