Javier Chicharito Hernandez: Cristiano Ronaldo & Lionel Messi never scored like I did at Manchester United!

A former Manchester United star has recalled his first goal for the Premier League giants, jokingly claiming that neither Cristiano Ronaldo nor Lionel Messi could have scored it like he did.

Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez first gained attention on the global stage after displaying his rapid speed while playing for Mexico at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Soon after that prestigious tournament ended, the 33-year-old made his debut for the Manchester club in a Community Shield tie against Chelsea.

Hernandez scored United's second strike in that match, but the goal remains a lasting memory due to the manner in which he scored it.

The forward received a low cross into the box from Antonio Valencia, but clumsily tripped over his own feet and unknowingly hit the ball into the net with his nose.

"Chicharito" has now commented on his first few days at United as well that memorable goal, jokingly claiming that not even Messi nor Ronaldo have scored a goal like that.

"It was special when I met the lads in the dressing room and everything, but it was more special when I arrived in Manchester," the Los Angeles Galaxy striker said, according to United's official website.

"I went to Carrington and the dressing room for the first time and then when I went to Old Trafford as well, playing friendlies or whatever before the season.

"After that, we went to Wembley and we played the Community Shield. The goal I scored with my face, where I assist and I score – it's the best goal ever, man [laughs]!

"Cristiano and Messi don't have a goal like that, man! I should have credit! It was like a nose goal. A nose-mouth goal. I should have more credit for it!"
