Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made a decision on giving Premier League champions Liverpool a guard of honour on Sunday.

The Gunners will travel to Anfield on Sunday looking to bounce back from their UEFA Champions League exit at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain.

Arne Slot's men got their first Guard of Honour last weekend ahead of their clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, where they went on to lose 3-1.

Arteta has confirmed the Gunners will honour tradition and give their rivals their respect.

“They deserve that," Arteta told reporters, as per thisisanfield.

“They’ve been the best team, they’ve been the most consistent, and what Arne and the coaching staff have done has been fascinating, it’s been really good.

“They fully deserve it, and that’s the sport. When somebody’s better, you have to applaud, accept and try to reach that level.”

This will be the second time Arteta's Arsenal will give a guard of honour to Liverpool, having done so in the 2019/2020 season.
