Arsenal have completed the signing of highly-rated Brazil defender Gabriel Magalhaes from Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille in a deal worth a reported €26-million.
The Gunners have secured the lanky centre-back who was attracting the attention of Europe's elite on a 'long-term contract' and provides a major boost to head coach Mikel Arteta's defensive options.
"We welcome Gabriel to Arsenal," Arteta told the club's website. "He has many qualities which will make us stronger as a defensive unit and as a team.
"He has proved with Lille that he is a defender with many outstanding attributes and we are looking forward to watching him grow as an Arsenal player."
Gabriel featured 34 times for Lille in the cancelled 2019/20 season and was one of the standout performers in the French top-flight.
